The Webbys Are Here!

The 2008 Webby awards are here to give you enough procrastinating material to last you until Christmas.

But in case you have, um, other things to do between now and Christmas, never fear! I have done the tough work for you, filtering through the millions (okay, dozens) of websites to find the ones worthy of your precious procrastination hours.

1.  The Speaking of Faith public radio show (and podcast, obviously) has won a Webby for their awesome website.  It requires more concentration than CNN and EOnline, but is totally, totally worth it.  I really liked their SOF Observed Blog, and in particular this post about martial arts.

2.  Invisible Children Displace Me 2.0 - an activist site, really excellently done.  When you visit this one, you must choose to watch the video. 

3.  Okay, so everybody knows about Epicurious, but when I looked at it again after they won yet another Webby, I noticed that their Articles and Guides section is actually the best part of the website (including their weekly dinner planners for seasonal meals complete with shopping list!).

4.  Weekend Sherpa - NorCal weekend travel adventure guides.  This looks kind of awesome!  If only I lived in NorCal.

5.  Birthday wish:  I want stickers of you from Moo!

Also:  Not a Webby award winner but worth the time:  The Red Cross has finally put up a website dedicated to the Myanmar Cyclone relief effort.
