I do realize that ever since I went to cooking school, I've become an insufferable bore on the subject of food and cooking. In order to spare you all the pain, I've decided to start a second blog, which will be called dinner in real life, where people who actually want to read my frenchified food opinions can do so, and the rest of you can get back to hearing about my normal life.


But Cari, you say, what on God's earth makes you think that you can write a second blog when you barely post on the first one?, you say.


I . . . . don't have an answer for that. Yet.


Having now been back in America for five weeks, I feel that I am in measure to report on my cultural findings. What I have to say is this: Los Angeles, you and your lack of a real public transportation system are completely indefensible. Completely indefensible. And I am going to stop defending you to the millions of French people who hate you. Expect to see a significant drop in tourism.
