There was one thing I liked best about Bordeaux, and I knew it was my favorite thing from the minute I saw it. It's not the calm, wide river that runs through the city, with breathtaking bridges and just a few small boats; it's not the narrow, cobbled pedestrian streets lined with old churches, fountains and buildings that house stores, galleries and cafés; its not the nearby beach towns that offer surfing, shopping, an 80 kilometer bike path and the largest sand dune in Europe; it's not the fact that if you drive 10 minutes out of downtown in any direction you hit chateaus and vineyards; it's not the fact that the people are so nice; and it's not the fact that everything is just gorgeous.
No, my favorite thing about Bordeaux is the fact that until your 28th birthday, you are considered a youth by Bordeaux city services and so you pay half price for train tickets, museum passes, and the like.
Bless you, Bordeaux.
So with all these amazing sights, did I take any pictures? After all, I did wander the city by myself for two full days. The answer is yes . . . I took 3 pictures.
How I managed to take such a piddling amount of pictures can only be explained by the fact that I was so awestruck by everything that I forgot I had a camera.
Also I was obsessed with a pair of white cowboy boots in this one shop that I kept going to back to see.
Did I mention that only one of the pictures actually shows Bordeaux visibly?
Also, did I mention that our new apartment has lots of extra rooms so now everyone has to come visit us? (That means you.)
Also, did I mention that I love this city? (Thank God.)

#1 - Did you go back and buy the white cowboy boots?
#2 - You better squeeze in as much as you possibly can before you are no longer considered a "youth"!!
Sounds good! I'll be by for a visit as soon as possible!
